Shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 13, members of the Rockville Police Department were called to the Twinbrook Metro station, where they found a man who was approached by a stranger who subsequently stabbed him.
Investigators say that minutes later, there was a separate call for a stabbing in the 1500 block of Rockville Pike, not far from the station, when another man was stabbed in the back by a stranger.
Both were taken to area hospitals for treatment and evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.
There was an increased police presence in the area following the stabbings, as officers investigated and searched for their suspect, who was described as a Black man wearing all black clothing at the time.
The stabbings remain under investigation.
